Kincaid XC #4 Results

Another glorious evening for a bike race! Great turn-out with 83 racers (not 93 as previously stated...sorry!). Lots of new-to-the-scene racers tonight, which is super awesome. Our beginner categories are steadily growing, which we REALLY like to see! We hope you all had a really good time and enjoyed the course.

Just a few things before the results...

1) next race: XC #5, August 7, based out of Little Campbell Lake parking lot, more info soon!

2) ALASKA STATE MOUNTAIN BIKING CHAMPIONSHIPS are coming up August 23-26. Do not let the name intimidate you! It's for ALL levels, abilities and ages. It's a series of 4 races, all different sorts, but all super fun. It's a Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday morning, Sunday morning racing extravaganza! Sunday night we will have the awards BBQ, which is for both the Kincaid Tuesday Night XC Series AND the Championships. One BBQ for everything! You must all come! Put August 23-26 on your calendars! More info as it magically manifests.

3) Please, please, please remember to check in with the race officials (cute timing ladies) if you decide to quit racing or "DNF" due to a mechanical or crash. We won't leave the area until everyone is accounted for... so rest assured that we won't leave you lying in a ditch somewhere with a concussion!

Okay, okay... here they are:

*shoot me an email if your results need a-tweaking!
**we did have several (read: LOTS) of folks miss course, take wrong turns, add some trail, skip some trail, etc... so we are just calling it a wash... anyone not okay with that can track down everyone that didn't do the course exactly as it was meant to be, then adjust the results. :)
***we have TWO small hoodies left... get them at the next race for $35.  Plus SOCKS! $10/pair

Kincaid Short Track

Tuesday, July 10, 7pm, JODHPUR PARKING LOT, Kincaid Park
  • Registration: 6-6:45pm
  • Race start: 7pm
Depending on how many folks show up, we will either have one group (mass start) or we will break you up into two groups. Everyone will race for 30 minutes, plus one lap. So if there are two groups, the first group will go out at 7pm and end around 7:35pm, the second group will head out at 7:40pm and race until 8:15 or so. The second group will get to cheer on the first group and the first group will get to cheer on the second group! This is a GREAT race for spectators, because we see the racers every couple of minutes! Also a great race for beginners because the course is relatively mild.

REGISTRATION AND RACE START WILL BE LOCATED IN THE JODHPUR PARKING LOT.

Directions: head west on Raspberry Road (like you are heading to the main Kincaid Park entrance) and take a left (south) on Sand Lake Road. Take the first major right (west) onto Kincaid Road. Follow Kincaid Road to the 90 degree left-hand turn (this is where Jodhpur Road begins), follow Jodhpur until about a mile down. The parking lot entrance will be on your right, marked by a big red gate and signs. The entrance is somewhat obscured by trees, so just keep your eyes peeled. It is the same entrance for the Motocross area. Drive down the dirt road and park in the big lot on your right.
  • You must be a member of the Arctic Bike Club to race. Join HERE.
  • Helmets are required.
  • Bear bells are not required for this race.
  • This race does not count for points in the Kincaid Race Series.
  • $15 adults, juniors (under 18) race free!
No race map because it will take you just a few minutes to pre-ride the course.  So it's a surprise until you get there!

If you have questions, email Megan!
